Separation, not a noise gate
A gate mutes everything below a volume threshold, which is why gated audio clips the start of quiet words and breathes between sentences. Separating the voice from the background removes the noise underneath the speech instead of cutting around it.

Questions
Will this fix any bad recording?
No, and it is worth being clear about that. It works when the voice is clearly present underneath the noise. If the speaker is distant, heavily clipped or genuinely drowned out, no processing can reconstruct what the microphone never captured.
Does it remove music as well?
It isolates speech, so background music is reduced along with everything else that is not the voice. If you want music under your narration, add it after the clean-up rather than before.
Do I need a desktop editor for this?
No. It runs from the app on your phone, on the video you already have in the project.
Is it free?
Audio clean-up is a Pro feature, with a daily allowance and a length limit per clip. Auto-captions and 720p export are available on the free tier.
Can I hear the difference before I commit?
