Privacy Policy
Effective
This policy applies to the Viten: AI Captions & Video app and related services operated by Kaan Sarıaydın (the “Service Provider”).
There is no sign-up, and you are never asked for your name or email. Your videos are never uploaded— editing, styling and export all run on your device.
What is collected
- Anonymous identifiers. The app generates a random account ID and device ID on first launch, so that your monthly free allowance and your subscription can be recognised. On Android, the device’s Android ID is also sent so that the allowance carries over if the app is reinstalled, and app updates use a random installation ID. None of these is linked to any real-world identity.
- Onboarding answers, if you complete the optional questions shown when you first open the app, andusage counts for metered features.
- Subscription status — which plan you hold and when it expires. Payment is taken by the app store you purchased from; card details are never received or stored by the Service Provider.
- Audio you choose to process. When you use auto-captions, subtitle export or audio clean-up, the audio track is extracted from your video and sent for processing, then deleted once processing completes. The video itself is not uploaded. AI voiceover sends only the script text you type.
- Feedback you send from the app: your rating, message, app version and platform.
- Diagnostics. When something goes wrong, the app sends a crash or error report, and a sample of sessions sends performance timings. These contain technical details — device model, OS and app version, the screen in use and what failed — tagged with your anonymous account ID. They never include your videos, audio, captions or screenshots of the app.
- Advertising data. Free exports are supported by a rewarded ad. On iOS you are asked before any advertising identifier is used to personalise ads; declining still shows ads, just not personalised ones.
The app does not collect precise location. Standard technical data such as your IP address is transmitted to make network connections work, and is not used to profile you.
Who else processes it
The Service Provider uses third-party providers to deliver the service. They act on its instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. They fall into these categories:
- Cloud hosting, database and file storage
- AI processing, for speech recognition, speech generation and audio clean-up
- Subscription and purchase management
- Crash reporting and performance monitoring
- Advertising
- App distribution, payment processing and app updates
A current list of these providers is available on request fromhello@viten.app. Data is not sold, and is not shared with anyone else unless required by law. Providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards applicable law requires.
How long it is kept
Uploaded audio is deleted as soon as processing finishes. Your projects and exports live only on your device. The anonymous account, onboarding answers and usage counts are kept while the app is installed, and deleted on request. Crash reports and performance data are deleted automatically after a limited retention period.
Legal basis
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies: performance of a contract for the features you ask for, legitimate interests for enforcing free limits, preventing abuse and fixing crashes, and consent for personalised advertising and anything you send voluntarily.
Your rights and how to delete your data
You may request access to your data, its correction or deletion, a copy of it, or object to its processing. Emailhello@viten.app.
Because the account is anonymous, a request cannot be matched to a record without your User ID. Find it in the app under Settings → User Info, which has a button to copy it.
Uninstalling removes the app and all local projects from your device, but does not delete the server-side record — email the address above for that. If you are in the EEA or UK you may also complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 16, or such higher age as local law requires. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact hello@viten.app and it will be deleted.
Security and breaches
The Service Provider applies appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your data, affected users and the relevant authority will be notified as applicable law requires.
Changes
This policy may be updated. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and previous versions are available on request. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
